Newsweek has named our city one of the Top 10 Historic Small Towns in America in its 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Each year, Newsweek partners with a panel of travel experts to nominate destinations that capture the spirit of America’s most beloved historic communities. Readers then cast their votes daily, helping to shape the final list of “the best of the best.” This year, Vicksburg earned its place among some of the nation’s most storied destinations for the second year in a row, including Gettysburg, PA; St. Augustine, FL; Mackinac Island, MI; and Beaufort, SC.
