Vicksburg Gets Hipstoric: A New Art Festival Comes to Downtown Washington Street
Downtown Vicksburg is about to make history, and art is at the center of it all. This September, the very first Vicksburg Hipstoric Art Festival (VHAF) will take over Washington Street, bringing together artists, music, food, and community in a celebration unlike anything our city has ever seen.
What Is the Hipstoric Art Festival?
The name says it all: hip art meets historic downtown Vicksburg.
Vicksburg’s rich past blends with fresh, creative energy to create a one-of-a-kind experience. From September 26–28, Washington Street will transform into a vibrant, open-air gallery featuring 35 artists from across the country. Expect to see an incredible variety of artwork, such as paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photography, mixed media, and more.
More Than Just Art
This isn’t just a stroll-and-browse event. The Hipstoric Art Festival is part of Vicksburg’s Bicentennial Celebration, and the weekend is packed with activities for everyone. Enjoy live music all weekend, taste Southern favorites and festival bites from select food trucks and local restaurants, let the kids dive into hands-on activities, and don’t miss the debut of the Mint Julep Trail, where downtown spots will showcase their own twist on the classic cocktail.
