Join the MHC on Saturday, June 21st at The Strand Theatre in Vicksburg for a special screening of Fannie Lou Hamer’s America, followed by a conversation with civil rights legend Dr. Leslie McLemore and Hamer’s great-niece, Monica Land. Together, they will explore Hamer’s enduring impact on equal rights in Mississippi and discuss the vital role of the Mississippi Humanities Council in ensuring stories like Hamer’s continue to inspire new generations of Mississippians. Hamer’s legacy will be told by those who knew her best.
