Vicksburg Main Street Receives "Circle of Excellence" Award
This past Thursday, the Vicksburg Main Street Program, along with 29 other Main Streets, earned the Main Street Circle of Excellence award and were recognized for their dedication to providing their communities with efficient local programs and excelling with all MMSA requirements of a designated Main Street program.
The MMSA "Circle of Excellence" is an honor of distinction for Mississippi Main Street programs that fulfill the requirements of the MOA on time with demonstrated measures of success. The programs that achieved this honor were announced and awarded medals at the Annual Awards Meeting. The Criteria to be eligible for this honorable distinction are as follows and includes:
- Obtaining National Accreditation for the previous calendar year
- Both semiannual reports must be submitted on time with measurements of success
- Training requirements met for the previous year
- Directors’ Survey completed by November 3 of the previous year
- Annual dues paid by January 31
- MOA signed by January 31
- No director vacancies longer than 4 months
- Apply for Annual Awards
MMSA presented medals to the following Mississippi Main Street Association communities:
Aberdeen, Amory, Baldwyn, Biloxi, Booneville, Clinton, Columbus, Corinth, Crystal Springs, Greenville, Gulfport, Kosciusko, Laurel, Louisville, Meridian, Natchez, Nettleton, Pascagoula, Pearl, Pontotoc, Ripley, Saltillo, Senatobia, Starkville, Tunica, Tupelo, Vicksburg, Water Valley, West Point, and Woodville.
